Lose Stomach Fat Exercise

Walking into the gym you hear the sounds of running on the treadmill or the whirl of the bike and it sounds like heaven. For stress relief cardio is one of the best things you can do. It is also great for your heart and burning calories. Even though, these are true there are a number of lies out there about cardio. Here's why cardio makes you fat.

1. Spending lots of time conditioning will lead to faster weight loss

Will logging in ridiculous hours on the treadmill lead to more weight loss? When we think about it, we are burning the calories we take in. You will start to see weight loss almost instantly, but it's not the kind of weight you want to lose. Doing cardio alone will burn fat and muscle which is not what you want. Add some weight training into your routine to build fat burning muscle.

2. Commit an hour to cardio

No! Adding High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) into your workout program will get you the fast results you are looking for. Slow and boring conditioning breaks down muscle and it takes forever. Who has time to spend an hour on cardio? HIIT training will burn more fat in a shorter amount of time.

3. Cardio on an empty stomach

We have been taught that conditioning on an empty stomach will tap into our fat reserves. Well the opposite is true. We need to some food in our stomach for energy and performance. Even a small pre workout snack can make a difference.

4. Stay in the fat burning zone

Doing cardio at the same steady speed will not get you the results you're looking for. Get into the fat burning zone by walking or using high intensity interval training (HIIT). Slow condiioning like walking or HIIT training will get better results than jogging at an average speed.

5. If you do cardio you can skip a leg workout

Nope. Unless you're doing hill sprints or have the bike intensity cranked up so high that you can barely move you will need to build some leg muscle. You will need to add strength training moves to improve your cardio and burn fat.

By utilizing cardio properly you can burn large amounts of fat. If done improperly you run the risk of cardio making you fat. Just remember keep it slow or incorporate HIIT training and you will love the results!
